The longshore is an update to Denham’s iconic sea dog pea coat from AW09 and represents arguably the most ubiquitous style to be found on the backs of wharf workers from the golden era of the long shore man’s unions. hybrid peacoat/biker jacket style
The Longshore shows a dramatic step forward from the original pea coat, finished in a truly robust rubberized canvas, designed to withstand the elements and regular use over the years. With the outer body finished in that special canvas, you’ll also find the innards of the piece to be just as spectacular; clad with Melton wool-blend facings (collar, lapel), herringbone calico sleeve lining and a reverse-side Japanese denim torso liner.
The Longshore is such a beautiful step forward for Denham and shows a positive, modernist attitude to producing clothing that takes influence from the classics whilst retaining a brand identity of their own. It’s one of those jackets that continually surprises you with wear, perhaps you’ll find a new button, a pocket, or perhaps some form of detailing that catches your eye – a true labyrinth of a piece that will have you inspecting it numerous times with a air or amour and appreciation.
